Soup Kitchen Donation Drop-Off

For the third Friday of each month, including Friday, March 18 - during the winter - we will be serving a roast chicken dinner to our guests at the Soup Kitchen. For those who wish to do so, we can use donations of the following:

  • Salad ingredients: greens, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, radishes, etc.

  • Granola bars

  • Fruit: oranges, apples, tangerines

  • Shelf-stable milk

  • Yogurt: individual containers

  • Frozen vegetables: corn, green beans

Donations should be dropped off at Ellen Tierney's home in Lake Bluff any time on Thursday, March 17, or before 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18. If those times are not convenient, please contact Ellen to make alternate arrangements at ellenkelly@comcast.net

Also, for those who wish to do so, we could use new or clean, gently used hats and gloves or mittens - our guests often need such items, and we would love to be able to distribute them. If anyone has gently used, clean winter jackets, we could use a supply of those for guests who need them.
